A MAGICAL 2-ACT COMEDY——1 MAN, 6 WOMEN

In Kosciusko, Mississippi, there is only one avenue to the top of small-town society: membership in the City Garden Club, where the elite meet. But when one is turned away, for various reasons, by the City Club, there is another option: The Attala County Garden Club.

The County Club isn’t for the faint of heart, but young homemaker Rose
Chipley, believes she is up for the challenge. Rose doesn’t realize that she has unknowingly joined a coven of witches, hell-bent on avenging their reputations against the town that shunned them. But Club Treasurer Danita Dixon has been waiting for an ally, someone to help her fight off the forces of the coven.

Rose and Danita seek out the tutelage of Jolene, a local hairdresser and Choctaw shaman. Together they develop their talents, leading up to a final showdown with The Attala County Garden Club.

The Attala County Garden Club premiered at OnStage Atlanta in March of 2006, under the direction of Jeanette Stinson. The cast was Amanda Cucher, Mark Russ, Bobbie Elzey, Cheryl Rookwood, Jo Howarth, Kellie Fortner, and Patty Siebert.

The 2007 Mississippi premiere was directed by Aubrey Barnette at Brick Street Players.
